Carers, domestics, shoppers, gardeners and handymen

We offer an introduction service to a host of different professions all eager to help you stay in your own home for as long as possible.  All are self-employed, have been DBS cleared by ourselves, have the relevant Public Liability Insurance and had references checked. All take care of their own tax affairs.

All carers working on behalf of Bexhill Caring Community have NVQ2 in Health and Social Care (or above). Organisations that introduce carers to clients, like Bexhill Caring Community, are not currently regulated by the Care Quality Commission and are not allowed to interfere in the care delivery provided by the carer.  Therefore Bexhill Caring Community cannot create a care plan, determine the intensity or regularity of care visits or arrange rotas.  This has the advantage that the arrangement remains between the carer and the client.  A further carer can be introduced for holiday / sick cover if requested to do so by the client.  The client gives the daily instructions to the carer directly.  Bexhill Caring Community offers advice and support but ultimately it is between the client and carer to decide the best course of action.  The carer deals with the client directly with regards to payment of services.  However, carers are required to charge our list of current rates for any clients introduced by ourselves.  As of 1st July 2019, the current hourly rate is £12 per hour Monday to Friday and £17 at weekends. We can also offer half hour care calls at £9.

We also have domestics and shoppers who charge the same rates as our carers.

Our gardeners and handymen charge £12 per hour.

If anyone would like to be introduced to our wonderful team, or for more information, please ring into our office where our staff will be more than happy to help match you to the right person.  Every year our charity helps over 2,000 people living in Bexhill.  Will you be one of them?

Hello. I am enquiring after your services on behalf of my Mother June Carey. We visited you at a monthly event at Sackville Road about a year ago with my Father. Sadly my Father passed away November 2019. We have continued the live-in care for June, put in place for my Father who suffered with Dementia. June does not have Dementia. Please advise if you can offer any live-in 24 hr care and the cost. If this is not available I would still like to make use of the other Services available. The Agency we use presently is very good but Mum’s money going fast.

Hi I am enquiring regarding gardening help. My elderly friend in ger 70s is responsible for doing her garden, she is in a rented house by Optivo they dont offer help. Her garden is never used but she needs to keep the grass down as it’s her responsibility but the acess is down pebble dash stairs with a low wall and shes not very good at managing the stairs and it’s just too much for her. She cant afford a gardener as on a pension and looking for someone just to help keep the lawn cut. Is this something you would be able to help with please.
